The fitness apparel industry is growing rapidly on a global basis. Fitness apparel can now be worn not only in the gym, but in almost any setting. As a result, the number of brands and manufacturers vying for a piece of the fitness apparel market is growing by the day. This is where the gray areas come in. 

The players in the fitness apparel market are small businesses, mid-sized companies and, increasingly, start-up brands. On the other hand, there are semi-manufacturers entering the same fitness apparel market at the same pace, inexperienced manufacturers entering the fitness apparel manufacturing business from other textile fields and without the necessary machinery, and manufacturers trying to market disposable style promotional fitness apparel.

1- There is a gray area when it comes to custom manufacturing of designs. Manufacturing that involves applying a brand's logo to already prepared, mass-produced sports bras (or leggings, T-shirts, etc.) is not custom manufacturing. This type of manufacturing is called promotional quality (low quality, disposable clothing).

2 - Fraudulent or inexperienced manufacturers who want to win the manufacturing contract by keeping the price very low will use lightweight fabric in their sports bra designs. In addition, they often use fabric scraps that are left over from cutting the fabric and have to be thrown away. Or they use non-fabric but fabric-like materials, which we call regenerated.

The result: The sports bra looks uncomfortable on the wearer. The color of the fabric fades in the first few washes in the washing machine. Because the fabric is flimsy, it cannot hold the seams in place during use, and the seams tear, rip, and come apart. After a short period of use, the fabric begins to loosen. In a very short time, the fabric will begin to pile up.

3 - When they give low prices for the production of sports bras, their only purpose is to make a profit by producing as much quantity as possible. For example, they have to sew a sports bra that should take 10 minutes in 4-5 minutes.

The result: Painfully distorted seams, incorrect pattern placement, misprinted brand logos. Depending on the fabric used in the sports bra (polyester, polyamide, or cotton), the stitches begin to fall apart after a short time because no special sewing technique or thread is used. In addition, the stitching is very loose and the steps are uneven. As a result, the sports bra will look uneven and lopsided on the wearer.

4 - The use of the type of fabric according to the design of the sports bra is an important technical issue. What we mean here is not just the type of fabric. In other words, we are not talking about which polyester or polyamide fabric to use. We are talking about the production technique of the fabric that should be used according to the sports bra design. In addition, if the fabric weight and the elastane ratio in the fabric are not selected correctly according to the sports bra design, the sports bra design will stretch or, on the contrary, shrink.

The result: A sports bra that cannot be used or that will break down and become a waste product after a few uses.

5 - It is essential to apply the brand logo in high quality in your sports bra design.Fitness apparel manufacturers who do not have sufficient technical experience do not pay attention to these technical issues, and cannot pay attention even if they wanted to, because they use cheap labor. Because they offer cheap prices, they have to produce as much clothing as possible in as short a time as possible.  Many brand logo printing systems are used. Transfer, Ultra Flexo Printing, 3D Flexo Printing, Screen Printing, Digital, Digital Sublimation, Silicone Printing, etc. However, not every brand logo is suitable for every printing technique. If the correlation between the brand logo and the brand logo printing technique cannot be properly defined, the result will be what we call garbage clothing. In addition, in transfer printing, which is often used for brand logos, if sufficient pressure, temperature and printing time are not fully applied, the brand logo will separate from the fabric surface and be removed in a very short time.

The result: A sports bra that will end up in the trash.

6 - Because they use cheap labor consisting of inexperienced personnel in the production of fitness clothing, wholesale production times are very long. The reason for this is that it will take a long time for your turn to arrive as they take over the production work of many apparel brands. Shipping times are also very long.
